Kylie Minogue ‘Googles’ potential dates
January 22nd, 2008Kylie Minogue uses Google to find out which hunky male celebrities are available.
The singer - who has been single since splitting from French actor Olivier Martinez - often logs on to the web search engine to check out potential suitors.

She said: “I can’t lie. I did it with a friend and she would out me! I can’t tell you who I did it with though.
“I simply cannot reveal this information at this time.”
Kylie shares her Google love search technique with sister Dannii.
The X Factor judge recently revealed she fell for soul singer Robin Thicke after seeing him on TV, and was going to make a move until she discovered he was married.
Dannii confessed: “I have a crush on a singer called Robin Thicke. I saw him singing on the American Idol finale and his song really stuck in my head.
I typed his name into Google and was really upset to find out he is already married.”
Kylie, 39, is back on the dating scene after being single for nearly a year.
She said: “I enjoy dating, so I’m not totally alone. Don’t worry about it. It’s not that long ago that I came out of my last relationship.”
Rumours are rife Kylie hit it off with British TV star Matthew Horne, who acted alongside the Australian singer in a series of comedy sketches for ‘The Kylie Show’ - an ITV special filmed to celebrate her 20 years in pop.
Matthew gushed: “It was amazing working with Kylie - incredible. She’s so fit! She’s even better looking in the flesh than she is in her videos. She really is.”
The 29-year-old comedian also admitted he sent the I Should Be So Lucky singer a bunch of flowers and his phone number after they met on the show last November.

Katherine Jenkins says she’ll never forget attacker
January 20th, 2008

KATHERINE JENKINS revealed yesterday how she is terrified of walking anywhere on her own at night after she was grabbed in the street by a sex attacker.
The chart-topping mezzo soprano was a 19-year-old student in London when she was almost raped by a stranger whose face she says she’ll never forget.
“I was absolutely terrified,” she says in her new autobiography, Time To Say Hello.
“My first thought, as he grunted and dragged me along, was that he was going to murder me; my second was that he was going to rape me.”
Now 27, she was a year into a scholarship at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music when the attack took place as she walked home from a birthday party to her flat in Paddington.
She was on the phone to her flat mate Lucy – a precaution she decided on because she had to pass through a narrow pedestrian tunnel – when she sensed a man behind her.
Before she could alert anyone he had grabbed her. As he pulled her down an alleyway she tried to bargain with him, offering him her wallet, but he wasn’t interested.
Katherine, fit from regular gym visits, managed to slip out of his grasp and began to run. But she was in five inch heels and he caught up, punching her to the ground.
Her reaction, she says, was instinctive. She writes in her autobiography, which is now being serialised in the Mail on Sunday, “Until this kind of thing happens, you do not know how you will react; you have no idea whether you will freeze or put up a fight.
“What I knew instinctively, though, was that if I could curl up into a small, tight ball, he would not be able to rape me. He could kick me, which he did over and over again, but not rape me.
“So that is what I did.”If she had failed, the course of her life may have been very different, but her attacker gave up and settled for taking her wallet.
Neither had realised that the entire ordeal had been heard by Lucy, who was still connected on the phone Katherine had clutched in her hand.
Moments after the man disappeared, Lucy appeared with fellow flat mate Edda, both in pyjamas and desperately worried they would find their friend dead.
Shortly after that the police – who had been called – arrived too, but the attacker has never been caught.
Eight years on Katherine is still affected by the experience.
She tries to avoid having to walk anywhere by herself after dark. She is also very protective of her younger sister Laura, and always insists on giving her money to get a taxi home when she visits.
Katherine, originally from Neath, said, “I have never forgotten what happened that night in Paddington when I feared for my life, but I have been determined to minimise its effect on me.”
Rihanna Biography
January 13th, 2008
Rihanna is a North American R&B/Soul singer. Most of the worldly population would also classify her as a tradtional dancehall singer; who has splurged onto the entertainment scene unexpectedly.
Rihanna was born on the Caribbean island of Barbados in 1988. Through the years, particularly during her pre-teen and teenage years, she would sing to friends and family only for amusement purposes. One day, a mutual friend of Rihanna introduced her to music producer Evan Rogers, whose home base is in New York.
He asked Rihanna to perform whatever song that came to mind for her. Rogers was obviously suprised on what great talent Rihanna had. Immediately, both Rogers and Rihanna made demos containing close to twelve tracks including the 2005 smash hit Pon De Replay and mailed the demos out to various recording comanies including Def Jam Recordings where Rihanna would eventually be signed onto.
Shawn Carter, also known as simply ‘Jay Z’ in the urban community, who was recently crowned as the CEO of Def Jam, was enticed by the mature sounds of the talented singer, and immediately started recording for her upcoming LP disc.
Of course Rihanna completed the recording of her LP disc entitled Music Of The Sun. She amazingly did not just sing the notes to the songs that can be heard on the album, she also co-written a majority of them. She has gone to various radio stations around the United States promoting her vivacious single, “Pon De Replay,” and her album, which will be released on August 30, 2005.
Rihanna says she is inspired by such artists like Alicia Keys, Beyonc? Knowles and Mariah Carey. She also states that on her album, you’ll not only listen to reggae, but you’ll hear ballads and other R&B fused tracks. Well, we can’t wait

The New Material Seems To Be Flowing Freely
January 4th, 2008Sacramento’s DEFTONES has issued the following update:
“After a month-long stay in Los Angeles, we’re back in Sacto at the Spot where we’ll continue to work on new material until the holidays. As of right now, there’s about six to eight songs finished, and we hope to have a few more completed before we break.

“As some of you may have read, we’ve taken a different approach to writing this record than we have the past few years, and so far it’s been a lot of fun. The material seems to be flowing freely, and each song is different from the other. We feel like we’re accomplishing what we set out to do, which is to write a record that pushes boundaries for us creatively. We can’t wait for you all to hear it. More updates to come…”
DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno told Billboard.com in May that the quintet had set up a backstage writing room on tour where they were creating new material.
“We’re going in there and playing as five of us in the room with just our instruments, no other distractions,” he explained. “That’s how we started out, basically, when we first started the band — us in the garage, no ProTools or anything to get us ahead of ourselves. We’d just play things over and over again, until we remembered it — that’s the rawest way you can do it, and the best, I think.”
Biography of Patty Pravo
January 4th, 2008
Patty Pravo (stage name of Nicoletta Strambelli) was born in Venice in 1948. At the age of five, she began attending piano and dance classes at the Teatro la Fenice in Venice. At ten, she enrolled at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory. She later signed up for the conducting course, but unexpectedly interrupted her studies and left for London, where she stayed for several months. On returning to Italy, she moved to Rome, where she became a role model of hippy fashion. She frequented the well-known Rome club the Piper and drew the attention of several leading film directors (including Fellini and Antonioni) and Alberico Crocetta, owner of the Piper club, who asked her to sing. She began performing on stage, singing rhythm’n'blues. She became a local idol who personified the desire for change and for life on the edge that was felt by young people of the period. In 1966 under the pseudonym of Patty Pravo she recorded her first single for ARC (RCA Italiana), Ragazzo triste, a cover of a song by Sonny Bono. With this track she took part in Scala Reale, a TV programme linked to the New Year’s lottery. Her contemporaries immediately saw her as a symbol of rebellion and the record entered the charts at number eight. But the girl from the Piper club was developing rapidly. It took just a couple of hits (Qui e l?, which she sang at the Cantagiro festival in 1967, and Se perdo te) for her to undergo a radical transformation. She was now a high-class singer and the epitome of a stylish, sophisticated woman. Discographic success was not long in coming. In the spring of 1968 she reached number 1 in the charts with La bambola. She released her long-awaited first album, which included such international hits as Yesterday, Old Man River and River Deep Mountain High. She was riding the crest of the wave and at the 1968 Canzonissima festival reached fifth place with Conte’s Tripoli 1969. In 1969 RAI devoted a special feature to her. The same year she won the Festivalbar, where she sang Il paradiso by Mogol and Battisti, while in the autumn she was back at Canzonissima with Rain by Jos? Feliciano, translated into Nel giardino dell’amore. In 1970, she took part in the Sanremo Festival for the first time. She sang La spada nel cuore together with Little Tony and received the critics’ prize. Yet another enormous success, this song again marked the beginning of a radical transformation. She was becoming much more sophisticated artistically (she recorded Per te by Battisti, Non andare via, the translation of Ne me quitte pas by Brel, and Tutt’al pi?). However, while the Patty Pravo sensation was an economic success, the artistic aspect was fraught with difficulties. In 1971 she left RCA for Phonogram and recorded the single Love Story and the album Di vero in fondo (with the title track by Paoli, E torn? la primavera by Guccini, Emozioni by Battisti, Samba preludio by Vinicius De Moraes and Le foglie morte). There followed another two albums which did not achieve the expected success in spite of containing such jewels as Col tempo by Leo Ferr?, A modo mio (translation of My Way) and Poema degli occhi by De Moraes. Disappointed, she returned to RCA and recorded the successful album Pazza idea (which contains Poesia by Riccardo Cocciante and I giardini di Kensington, a cover of Lou Reed’s Walk On The Wild Side). She was now back at the top of the charts. Her next album, Mai una signora, with arrangements by Bacalov, was equally successful. Over the next two years, she recorded Incontro and Tanto, a widely-released album recorded in London and arranged by Vangelis. Yet again she left RCA. She signed a contract with Ricordi and began to experiment with funky and new wave music. The result was Patty Pravo, an album that was too experimental to be widely successful. There followed two years without recording, a silence broken only by reports in the tabloid newspapers and nude features in Playboy. In 1978, she returned to RCA and presented Ivano Fossati’s Pensiero stupendo at the St. Vincent festival. Back in the hit parade, she released the album Miss Italia. During the same period she took part in the variety show Stryx hosted by Enzo Trapani, at the time one of the most original TV programmes on the air. Another difficult period now began. In Germany she recorded Munich Album, but was deeply disappointed with its lukewarm reception. She moved to the United States and returned three years later to release Cerchi, an album written in collaboration with Paul Martinez. Once again, however, it was a sales flop. This was a difficult and tormented period for her. In 1984 she signed a contract with CGD and returned to the Sanremo festival with the song Per una bambola. This time the public appeared to be more receptive and she was praised by the critics. Again with CGD she recorded Occulte persuasioni, but without exceptional results. Yet again she changed record company. This time she signed a contract with Virgin and returned to the Sanremo festival with Pigramente signora. However, it was once again a disappointment and another failed record contract. In 1990 she turned down the opportunity to sing Donna con te at the Sanremo Festival (which in the event was sung by Anna Oxa), and the discographic difficulties, bitterness and misunderstandings worsened. It was not until 1997, after various attempts to make a comeback, that she finally achieved enormous success at the Sanremo Festival with her splendid rendition of Vasco Rossi’s song Dimmi che non vuoi morire and the album Notte, guai e libert?, which won her back an audience that in reality had never forgotten her.

January 1st, 2008Brittany Spears Driving Skills Called Into Question Again
January 1st, 2008
Troubled star Britney Spears has been blasted for her erratic driving once again — this time by the paparazzi.
The singer was caught driving her white Mercedes-Benz at speeds of up to 100 miles-per-hour in Los Angeles on Thursday night, prompting her large army of photographers to beg her to slow down over fears for her and other people’s safety.
But the singer ignored the photographers calls, and continued to raise fears about her ability behind the wheel as she proceeded to make a number of illegal u-turns, as documented in footage caught by Hollywood.TV.
Her crazy driving has already caused her problems in her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, and earlier this year, a judge banned the singer from getting behind the wheel with her two kids in the car after a string of traffic incidents, including a hit-and-run charge.
